Analogue Microforges

WPI's MF200 Analogue Microforge is a versatile instrument designed specifically for the fabrication of glass micropipettes and other related tools. The MF200 is simple and reliable. It fits on a microscope objective, allowing you to see the formation of the pipette tip. This microforge may be used for multiple applications. You may use it to fire polish pipette tips, to reduce the size of a pipette tip to create a holding pipette, to fire polish large bore pipettes, to reduce the tip size of a large bore pipette, or to form a sharp point on a beveled tipped pipette.

Digital Microforges

WPI's JRD-Y is a microprocessor-controlled digital microforge offering unmatched performance. The JRD-Y is a machine vision enabled digital microforge that represents a major step forward in glass micropipette fabrication. Motorized motion control in X, Y, and Z axes, driven by Sutter Instrument’s industry standard micromanipulators, allows for precise, reproducible positioning of glass micropipettes for fire-polishing, cutting, bending, or spiking.
