Millipore Millicell Compatibility
The EVOM™ Manual has been designed to improve workflow efficiency when working with Millipore MilliCell® cell culture insert plates, delivering increased stability, and providing more repeatable measurements than older Trans Epithelial Electrical Resistance (TEER) meters including the Millipore MilliCell; ERS-2, Millipore MilliCell ERS and World Precision Instruments EVOM2.
For over 30 years, World Precision Instruments has been perfecting equipment for measuring Transepithelial Electrical Resistance (TEER). Researchers have relied on WPI's EVOM™ technology for the development of well over 16,000 peer-reviewed published research papers that use WPI TEER measurement meters. More Stability/Accurate Readings
EVOM™ Manual gives you quick, easy, and reliable readings due to its fast stabilization, automatic twenty times sampling average, and low noise design. An overrange display feature eliminates erroneous readings.
Avoid the Need to Track Data by Hand
Millipore MilliCell ERS-2 requires you to log data by hand which is cumbersome and subject to transcription errors. EVOM™ Manual automatically captures the resistance or voltage readings to a USB drive in CSV format for easy access to your data, including date and time stamps on saved data. You can eliminate recording errors and reduce experimental processing time.
Variety of Measurement Ranges
Millipore MilliCell ERS-2 meters are limited to a single measurement range, but EVOM™ Manual allows you to select different ranges or can automatically detect the target range. Whether you are measuring a leaky cell type with low resistances or cell types for which barrier function is critical and resistance is higher, like blood brain barrier (BBB), the EVOM™ Manual can auto select. The auto-ranging resistance feature allows for fast resistance measurements. The EVOM™ Manual now has adjustable current levels in three fixed ranges with two lower ranges for sensitive membranes and high resistance ranges up to 100K Ω, making the EVOM™ Manual suitable for a variety of cell and tissue culture types (skin, intestine), complex 2-D (co-culture) or 3-D model (BBB) applications.
Hands Free Recording
With EVOM™ Manual you can streamline your process with a footswitch for hands-free recording, making sample analysis even faster. Data is recorded automatically, every time you tap the footswitch. You also minimize the chance of sample contamination when you limit hand movement during operation.
Touchscreen Display
EVOM™ Manual has an intuitive touchscreen controller with and easy-to-navigate menu and a graphical display showing your data for vital feedback during experimental measurements. The Millipore MilliCell ERS-2 show a simple numerical reading. With the EVOM™ Manual, you see the data for all the plate samples.
