  • 0.5 sec time constant
  • Isolated
  • 125°c Max. Temperature
  • 5 ft lead length
  • Rectal probe for mice similar to RET-2 except tip diam. 0.063-in. and shaft 3/4-in. long (0.028-in. diam.)

Features

Flexible Teflon microprobes are used for implantation in tissue, in spectrophotometer cuvettes, rectally in neonatal mice, in water baths, PCR thermal cyclers, etc. Also, measure animal rectal temperatures during surgical procedures and pyrogen testing or skin temperature measurement during exercise physiology studies.

Details

When precise temperature measurements are required, WPI can provide you with a very accurate monitor and thermocouple microprobes. WPI monitors have both resolution and accuracy of 0.1°C in the 0-50°C range and are traceable to NIST standards, whereas, other competitive electronic thermometers have an accuracy that is usually to 0.5°C or worse. Furthermore, all our type T clinical probes are guaranteed accurate to 0.1°C, due to our stringent wire standards. These are five times more accurate than competitive probes made with regular “Special Limits” wire.

The RET-3ISO for mice has all the same features of the standard RET-3 plus:

• An isolated sensor (can be used with monitoring equipment where electrical interference from other electrodes may be present).

• Reinforced strain relief for applications where probe is in more frequent use.

• Smooth ball tip. Stainless steel shaft - 3/4'' long, .028'' diameter. Tip diameter .065'', 5 foot lead length. Time constant 0.5 seconds.

Time Constant is defined as the time required to reach 63% of final temperature in liquid. An accurate reading is obtained when the reading stops changing, typically 5-10 time constants.

Maximum Temperature refers to intermittent use of probe. When probe is used for continuous measurements, maximum temperature should be reduced by 25% unless specified.
