Anaesthesia
EZ Anesthesia is the system of choice for anesthetizing small animals where it comes with a variety of choices. Seclect from the following four systems:
- EZ-SA800 Single Animal System offers an economical choice for single animal treatment. Includes a TEC 3 Isoflurane Key Filled Vaporizer; splitter output to supply either an induction chamber or a breather
- EZ-7000 Classic Small Animal Anesthesia System incorporates a TEC 3 Isoflurane Key Filled Vaporizer and a manual five output manifold for supply to an induction chamber and up to four breathers
- EZ-AF9000 Auto Flow Anesthesia System features an automatic five output manifold that does not require flowmeters and provides consistent, precise gas flow to each of the five outlets
- EZ-AD5000-F (supplied with flat bed) and EZ-AD5000-V (supplied with V-shaped bed) Digital Anesthesia System with a user friendly touch screen control including real time flow rate monitoring to each of the three outputs
The safety of laboratory personnel is of primary importance. So, WPI's anesthesia systems all come with a patented valve that mitigates the gas flow to the snugly-fitted nosecone. A highly sensitive valve regulated by the animal’s breathing works with the nosecone to ensure non-rebreathing efficiency and allow safe anesthesia for up to 12 hours.
Animals to be anesthetized are placed in the acrylic induction chamber and the system delivers a precisely blended mixture of oxygen and isoflurane. An activated charcoal air filter canister at the top of the chamber releases safe, filtered air back into the room. Optionally a water-heated cage warmer or warming plate is used to retain the animal body temperature while in the induction chamber. After the initial anesthetizing, the animal can be moved to the heated surgical water bed and positioned properly in the snugly fitted nosecone. A highly sensitive valve regulated by the animal’s breathing works with the nosecone to ensure non-rebreathing efficiency, and allow safe anesthesia for up to several hours. The breathing device also includes an air filter that releases safe, filtered air back into the room.
