The Mobile HomeCage-Large (MHC-L) provides a larger platform for use with rats and opens up the possibility to use floating mazes with mice. This next iteration of the MHC is an exciting leap forward in the possibilities for live imaging and physiological recordings in awake, freely moving rodents where solid, reliable stability is critical.

With the MHC-L you can:

  • Now use laboratory rats for in vivo, awake 2-photon imaging with all the benefits of the MHC utilising calcium-sensitive and other indicators, to study BBB penetration, pK, network activity, and employ electrophysiological and other techniques
  • Combine single-cell imaging and electrophysiological recordings with more complex behavioral methods (e.g., decision-making paradigms in T- or Y-mazes) on awake mice
  • Monitor animal’s locomotion and behavior with video-trackers (currently at beta-testing phase; please contact us for details), to design your own closed-loop experiment with food- or liquid-based positive reward and airpuff-based negative reward.
